The technical staff of the Agricultural Research Center started the process of pollinating palm trees under the supervision of Eng. Khaled Aslan, at the beginning of the 2021 agricultural season, when trees were planted in the Research Center about three years ago, and the palm sector represents one of the research interests in the Research Center and in Palestine now, according to the latest statistics of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations – FAO and its website (FAOSTAT) For the year 2019, the productivity of the date palm sector amounted to about 7729 tons, most of which are produced from the Palestinian Jordan Valley, while this sector is witnessing a remarkable growth, as the average production quantities in the last 20 years reached an average of about 5813 tons.
